Cape Fear Games

Sales & Internal Tools · 2025–Present
  • Customer-facing sales at one of the largest independent tabletop game stores in the Southeast; daily engagement with the gaming community across board games, TCGs, and RPGs
  • Run organized play events and product demos; coordinate event logistics including scheduling, vendor communication, and promotional materials
  • Built an iPad-based buyer kiosk as a full-stack web app (Node.js, Express, Socket.IO) with smart routing, Discord notifications, receipt printing, and searchable interaction logs
  • Developed a card scanner app prototype (Flutter, ML Kit OCR) integrated with the store’s inventory API for real-time trade-in pricing

Heartline Films

Co-Owner & Lead Filmmaker · 2011–Present
  • Built a wedding videography brand from scratch with my wife Haley: created the visual identity, brand guidelines, and all print and digital marketing materials over 200+ events
  • Hand-coded the company website (HTML, CSS, JavaScript); manage all content updates, SEO, and site performance
  • Plan and execute digital advertising campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads; manage Google Analytics, run A/B landing page tests, and optimize conversion funnels
  • Design all graphic assets for digital and print using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom; produce all video content in Premiere Pro
  • Manage digital assets across hundreds of projects: organize, version, deliver, and archive large volumes of photo and video files on deadline
  • Coordinate with external vendors including print shops, album manufacturers, and contract videographers
  • Write all brand copy including website content, email campaigns (Mailchimp), social media, and client-facing materials

  • Expanded a freelance videography role into a comprehensive marketing and digital operations position covering website management (WordPress), photography, videography, graphic design, SEO, data systems, and AI tool integration
  • Sole creator of all visual and written marketing materials; maintained brand consistency across every digital and print channel for a multi-location entertainment venue
  • Built all workflows, file structures, and processes from scratch with no existing playbook or oversight

  • Magic performance background · Misdirection, audience attention, pacing, reveal. A magician's whole job is making the complexity invisible.
  • Psychology studies · Informal study of how people think, decide, and feel. Shows up in everything from game design to client interactions.
  • Disney parks enthusiast · My wife was a Cast Member at Hollywood Studios. We honeymooned at Disney World. The way Disney designs every detail from the parking lot to the exit is the clearest version of invisible complexity I've encountered. It's the standard I hold other experiences to.
